Last 16th of Dicember the Medex Group celebrated the First Anniversary (2009 - 2010) of the metropolitan maritime line for passage beetwen the ports of Algeciras and Gibraltar, which exploits its investee Transcoma Lines. At that event was officialy presented the new mixed catamaran prototype, with capacity for  passage (170 passengers) and general and Roll-on/roll-off cargo  (100m2), the Punta Europa Tercero, which construction starts this month, and which is expected to be delivered by the shipyard Drassanes-Dalmau from Barcelona in middle of May, to have it operating on line in early June, for 2011 peak season.

Transport minister of Gibraltar and various logistics operators present at the event, expressed their satisfaction with what they consider a new alternative route of entry of freights and supplies to the Rock, less polluting and clears the land border.
